 VE Day Celebrations

Some of our members were very busy on the day of our May meeting, 8th May, VE Day. 

Members volunteered to make 150 ration packs for the children of the village, containing a chocolate bar, juice and a jam sandwich.

The VE Day celebrations continued into the evening with a fund-raising auction and cream tea with fresh scones, jam and clotted cream. No judgement was made on the choice of jam or cream first!

Our next meeting is on Thursday June 12th, when our speaker is Analiza Jones, talking about the harvesting, dying and weaving of various plant fibres found in the Philippines to create beautiful bags.
